Jan Forster


Jan Forster has been dancing since the age of 4 and has taught dance for the past 30 years. She is
owner of The Center For Dance as well as the Director and one of the choreographers of the
nationally award winning ‘Center Stage Dancers’.

Several of Jan’s former students have gone on to win prestigious awards: in 2007, Adam Slaker, was
named Mr. IDC at the National Competition for Intl. Dance Challenge in Orlando. In 2009, student
Mike Tolitano, was also named Mr. IDC. Three of her girls were named 1st, 2nd,and 3rd runner up for
Miss IDC in 2009 and in July 2011, 2 of her girls were named 2nd and 4th runner up for Miss IDC.
Many of her students have gone on to dance professionally at Disney World, tour with the Rockettes,
dance on Royal Caribbean and one of her former students, Jason Myhre, is currently choreographing
for Rihanna and Willow Smith.

Jan has appeared in dozens of theatre productions, including, Fiddler on The Roof, Guys and Dolls,
Hello Dolly, Carnival,Chicago and Anything Goes. She has choreographed hundreds of musicals on
the grade school, high school and college level along with being resident choreographer for the
Performing Arts Company Dinner Theatre. She was also on the Board of Directors for the Chicago
Human Rhythm Project in Chicago for 5 years and is still an avid supporter of the organization.
